Edward G.H. Chin is a lawyer specializing in aviation and aerospace transactions. His practice includes: aircraft acquisitions and dispositions, financings, restructurings and workouts, repossessions; spare parts financings and consignments; manufacturer and government support; product liability; warranty matters; insurance issues; aircraft modifications and conversions; and airline bankruptcies.

He has been listed in Euromoney’s Legal Group Guide to the World's Leading Aviation Lawyers for more than 10 years.

Mr. Chin has represented aircraft manufacturers, lessees, lenders and both operating and financing lessors in both commercial and general aviation. He has served for several years as a member of the Board of Directors of a code-sharing regional carrier for a major U.S. airline. Mr. Chin has consummated aircraft financing transactions in every populated continent of the world.

Mr. Chin was formerly a research engineer and has six (6) United States patents issued to him in the field of navigation, guidance and landing systems. Mr. Chin began his legal career at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson where he worked on mergers, acquisitions and securities matters. Most recently, Mr. Chin's practice has focused principally in structuring financings. with emphasis on asset based financings, both U.S. based and internationally. Mr. Chin was a partner at the law firm of Hertzog, Calamari & Gleason from 1984 to 1999, and a partner at Winston & Strawn LLP from 1999-2009.

He is a graduate of New York University (B.E. in E.E., 1969; M.S. in E.E., 1971) and of Fordham University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1977) where he was a member of the Law Review. Mr. Chin is also a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society, Eta Kappa Nu, the national electrical engineering honor society and a recipient of the NYU's Founder's Day Award.

Mr. Chin is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
